On 18 July 2024,  "Guangdong-U.S. Multinational Enterprises Green Development CEO Dialogue" was successfully held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. Ms. Kwok Ho Yee, the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Envision Greenwise Holdings Limited (“Envision Greenwise”, 1783.HK ), attended the event and shared her views on the topic of Circular Economy.

The event was organized by Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and US-China Business Council. It aims to promote government-business exchanges, particularly to encourage discussions between Chinese and US enterprises regarding topics such as energy transformation, CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage), and circular economy. Participants included the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Consulate General of the United States in Guangzhou, the US-China Business Council, Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, as well as GE Energy Investment (China) Co. Ltd., China-US Green Fund Management Company, and Green Recycling Company Limited (GER), etc.

In the dialogue session, Ms. Kwok Ho Yee delivered a speech as a representative of Chinese enterprises, and exchanged practical experience and development paths with the guests on the topic of "Best Practices of Circular Economy".  She pointed out that, in this rapidly changing era, enterprises must make dynamic adjustments according to changes in market demand and business environments for the healthy development of circular economy. In June 2024, Envision Greenwise launched the "Hong Kong's First EV Battery Processing Plant", which is now under construction. The Plant will use cutting-edge technology to process retired EV batteries with the method of cascade utilization and direct recycling. It will also serve as a valuable platform to support the entire supply chain, and further promote the optimization and upgrading of the lithium-ion battery recycling industry in the Greater Bay Area.

Ms. Kwok Ho Yee also shared the practical experience of circular economy in Hong Kong. She mentioned that the Hong Kong Government has taken various measures to regulate the recycling market by promoting the “Producer Responsibility Schemes” and combating illegal disposal of waste, which has effectively supported qualified recycling companies and facilitated the orderly development of the circular economy. Going forward, Envision Greenwise will continue to explore advanced technologies for battery recycling to enhance resource utilisation, and will also cooperate with high-quality channels at home and abroad, striving to build "Hong Kong's First EV Battery Processing Plant" into a benchmark project in the Greater Bay Area and contribute to the development of the global circular economy.
